Dragons take on the Dragons Egg Challenge

29 09 2014

The end of  September saw a new challenge to the Dragons squad in the shape of an egg, a Dragons Egg to be precise. Having been approached by Paul Turner of BBC’s Dragons Den fame on Twitter, a challenge was thrown down to see if some of our squad members could face the heat of Alf Turner Butcher’s Ltd new product the Dragons Egg

Taking place in the ASDA store in Llandudno North Wales, the Dragons in their Gap Personnel sponsored, Raging Bull made kits, enjoyed the Scotch eggs with a bite. Some of the proceeds from sales goes towards the charity Help For Heroes a charity the North Wales Dragons have supported in the past.

Offering the product out to the customers who were streaming in and out of the store it was plain to see that Alf Turners legacy is in safe hands with Paul, his brother and investor Peter Jones.

We wish to thank ASDA, Paul and Peter Jones for allowing us to be a part of this promotion and hope you can take on a challenge from our football team in the future.

Daily Post Wish campaign

1 10 2012

We are very pleased to announce that we are one of the groups that have been selected for the Daily Post Wish Campaign. The Daily Post will be sharing £25,000 cash pot amongst groups of people on their wish list, none of these groups will miss out on a cash sum.

How does it work?

The Wish Campaign works simply by tokens. Four tokens will be printed in the Daily Post everyday from Tuesday October 2nd to Monday 19th November with possible bonus tokens also appearing in the paper. The tokens are to be cut out of the paper and placed into a booklet held by any one of our players. These booklets will then be sent to the Daily Post and counted, we will then be informed on who has what amount.

How you can help?

You can help us if you are in the Daily Post Wales area by collecting the tokens and posting them to the Dragons headquarters in Colwyn Bay

North Wales Dragons, 70 Oak Drive, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, LL29 7YS

What will the money go towards?

As you may know, the Dragons are a football team that raise funds and awareness for various charities each year. We will be putting the fund into the North Wales Dragons Project, which is aimed to get children and adults away from their tv sets and into sports while raising funds and awareness for causes close to their hearts.

When are the results announced?

Once we have collected all of the tokens, they will be counted and sent to the Daily Post. The results will then be revealed in a special supplement in the newspaper from Monday 21st January and through our website and various social media feeds.

Thanks for reading – Until next time

25 09 2012

After a successful campaign of raising funds and awareness during 2012, we are now looking forward to 2013 with similar optimism and excitement.

It would take up too much space to list the successes of this year; however, some of the highlights are that we managed to have our breast cancer awareness campaign re-tweeted to over 10.25 million followers on Twitter during the Olympic Games.
